I can't drive 55

Driving up to NH today I got pulled over in my brand new car. Is it true what they say about red cars? Alex, the VW salesman who sold me my new car debunked the popular misconception that red cars are ticketed more often. My insurance agent didn't ask me what color my car was. So why did I get pulled over driving 77 MPH in a 65 MPH zone?

I was very direct and respectful to the state trooper, so he reduced my crime to 75 MPH, saving me some cash and points.

He also issued me a warning because we both agreed that I was driving in the left lane:

Officer: Were you driving in the left lane when I pulled you over?
Dr. F: Yes, I was, Sir.
Officer: Do you know what the left lane is for?
Dr. F: It's for passing, Sir.
Officer: Why were you driving in the left lane then?
Dr. F: I don't know

My car is 3 days old, at least I haven't gotten any parking tickets to date!
